REVIEW
This is a hefty book with 336 pages. I got it in May 2025, and I’ve only just finished reading it. That’s not as surprising as it may seem, because in 2025 I hardly did any reading as Life was otherwise driving me in other directions.
But now I’ve finished this book I want to give a review of it as it is definitely worth reading if you’re looking for a comforting, warm, and genuine, helpful “voice” telling you what to remind yourself of as you navigate life.
I enjoyed the format of this book with 5 affirmations at the end of each chapter. Depending upon where you’re at in your current stage of spiritual/human development, some chapters’ affirmations will probably really grab you, while others won’t as much.
The book is divided into 7 parts:
- The seven Laws of Universal Success
- The six personal powers of success
- The five magnetic energies of success
- The four steps to success
- The three unseen assistants to success
- The two obstacles to success
- The One path to success
The main premise of the book is that we are made up of consciousness and energy, and if we think about the Oneness of life and look for opportunities, learn lessons, be positive, and appreciate things, we are better off in any situation.
Walter touches nicely upon the nature of the quantum field and our interaction with it. This information may be interesting and helpful to those who have never thought about associating consciousness with what happens to them within the “quantum field.” The quantum field is the state of fluidity or of unmanifested energy, and when non-local energy waves are observed, they become particles and are perceived as physical and solid.
For myself, at the stage that I’m at, the Introduction and Parts 1 and 2 helped me the most. Sandra Anne Taylor points out in her introduction that change happens in an instant in the quantum realm and that your consciousness creates your destiny. This is not to say that you or I always consciously create our destinies. It means that what’s in your conscious mind is critical to how you experience life.
So, it makes sense to be aware moment-to-moment of what we are thinking about and to engage in activities that help us with self-knowledge.
There is an abundance of real-life examples or personal stories sprinkled throughout the book. I really like these because they illustrate Taylor’s concepts and philosophies well.
Note: the writer defines abundance NOT as a lot of money, but as having enough of peace, happiness, good health, and all of your needs met. Abundance is about not feeling any lack, as much as possible.
This edition of the book is worthwhile for the help it does give, and for providing a bonus of 8 downloadable audios. The instructions at the front of the book direct you to the Hay House website, where you create an account. Then you type in a Product ID and a Code to go to a page with the audios.
- Affirmations for Self-Empowerment
- Relaxation and Memory Release
- Rescripting Beliefs for Truth and Self-empowerment
- Your Sacred Identity
- Clearing the Road Ahead
- Planting your Destiny Garden
- Attracting Success
- Attracting Love
I have listened to one of these audios so far (can’t remember which one), and found it very helpful. Altogether, this book is a wonderful companion for anyone seeking practical, everyday ways to feel better about themselves and their lives. That’s if they do the inner work, as Taylor points out, becoming conscious, having solid, definite, positive intentions, aligning thoughts and actions with what you want, surrendering desires with faith they will happen, and asking for spiritual help.
If you go to the page below on Amazon, at the time of publication of this review, you will be able to read the first 2 chapters from the first part of the book. Click on “Read sample” under the image of the book and wait until the sample loads.
If you scroll down this page HERE, you can go scroll down Taylor’s “Bonus Page” to see various outlets that you could buy the book from, at the time the bonus page was published. Note, there’s no date on Sandra Taylor’s webpage and it seems claiming the bonuses is no longer valid.
Each chapter includes practical activities such as journaling, visualizing, breathing, writing out limiting beliefs, and pairing them with supportive statements and relating to others. The author refers to scientific research to make some points, such as the frequencies of calmness versus an agitated state. She drives the reader to practical ways to become calm and more positive.
I like how the information flows in this book and the content is easy to read. The structure is great with the affirmations at the end of each chapter. You can write down your favorites so that you have them at your finger-tips.
I confess that by the time I got to Part 5: The Three Unseen Assistants to Success, I was wondering just how much more that Taylor could write about the subject. I found Parts 6 and 7 a little repetitive of what she had already written. It turned out that Part 5 was well worth reading. It is about your Higher Self, Angels, and God. These chapters nicely describe what these are how and how you can relate to them for having your needs met.
I think that the last part, number 7, was unnecessary. It could have been merged with part 6, which looks at limiting beliefs and giving up too soon as obstacles to success. Sometimes it’s hard to know when to end or to craft a succinct ending! If you read this book, you may disagree with me and like there being 7 parts.
Altogether, though, I recommend this book to anyone wishing to have their faith in themselves and their lives boosted. It is very easy to read, even if a very long book to read. Once you start, don’t give up reading it! I am happy and grateful that I read the entire book, even if it did take me one year to read it.
Hopefully, you will have lots of time to read this book, maybe taking your own notes on what’s most powerful for you, if you choose to read it. If you know someone who loves reading, has got time to do so, and would enjoy this book, get it for them.
