The Soul of an Octopus by Sy Montgomery

The Soul of an Octopus by Sy Montgomery – reviewed by Harmony

Publisher:  Atria Books

Date of publication:  2016

Genres:  Non-fiction, spiritual, animals, philosophy

A clearly written and fascinating and absorbing story all about Octopuses.

The author writes in a friendly and easy to read manner.  The content reveals facts about the Octopus that gave me a different view of the Octopuses, that is respectful.  The author cares about Octopuses and this shows through her detailed information about her experience with them.

This book is fabulous and hard to put down.  I like how the author writes in a spiritual way and shows appreciation of and kinship with the Octopus.  This prompts me to think about my kinship with all life no matter how seemingly different life is.

This is an inspiring book and well written, well worth reading if you have ever thought that animals are not just “lesser animals”.
