Review Format

REVIEW FORMAT FOR BOOK REVIEWERS INTERNATIONAL

1. TITLE AND REVIEWER

[ Title of Book by Author’s name in full ] Reviewed by [ your name – first name only okay ]

Note: your name can be your WordPress User name or your legal name in full or just your first name ( e.g. Celine ) but pick a name which will consistently be used as the Reviewer for all your reviews on BRI.

2. PUBLISHER

3. DATE OF PUBLICATION

4. GENRE OR CATEGORY OF BOOK

Please add, to the best of your knowledge, the Genre or Category of the book you are reviewing, for example Romance, Mystery, Adventure, Science Fiction, New Age, Transport, History. You can “google” or search upon “Amazon book genres” or just “book genres” if you wish to look up what is traditionally used. You can use more than one Category.

5. YOUR REVIEW

Language: Please write in English or translate into English.

Length of review: Minimum of around 200 words, not to exceed 2,200 words ( up to approximately 4 pages of single spaced typed text on A4 portrait orientation pages ).

Presentation of review: if your review is lengthy, try breaking it up into Sections with headings.

Please use simple, easy to understand words and sentences (no highly jargonistic reviews).

NO slander or derogatory or attacking or abusive opinions will be allowed AT ALL.

NO profanity (swear words) will be allowed AT ALL.

6. EXCERPT – OPTIONAL If you can and want to, please provide a “catchy” or appealing excerpt with a maximum of 25 words, to act as a “hook”. This will appear in the introduction to your review article (Blog Post) on the Home page of this site, when your Review is published. See the example below.

7. OTHER BOOK INFORMATION – OPTIONAL Helpful notes – see below for examples.

Editions: 3 known editions of this book. The 2015 edition has colour illustrations. There is an edition for children published by ABC publishers.

Series: This book is 1 of a series of 13 published books.

What Happens After submitting your Application?

After applying to be a Book Reviewer on this site, Book Reviewers International (BRI), I will email you if you are approved, and will add you to this site via your registered WordPress User Name, with the Role of “Contributor.”

This means that YOU will be able to sign into BRI and will be able to create and SAVE your own Blog Post with content following the Format above. I will email you instructions on how to create a Post on WordPress. It is easy to do. I will schedule your Review post for publication, and I will PUBLISH it on BRI, and will email you once your Book Review is published on Book Reviewers International (BRI).

If you can’t or don’t want to create a post on WordPress, you will still need a WordPress User Name so that your name can appear on the Reviewers page. If you prefer, you CAN email me your Book Review in Word.docx or Word.doc format but you will still need to sign into BRI and create a blank Blog Post with the Title of your Book Review. I will complete the Post with your Review text and your Review will be published UNDER YOUR NAME.
